Secondary VNC Session & LSF interactive Jobs

Issue: If user has more than one VNC session on his/her workstation, LSF interactive jobs doesn’t work other than primary VNC session.

Reason for this is, LSF does not forward xauth cookies other than primary VNC sessions.

Workaround: add the below lines in affected  user’s .cshrc/.bashrc file.

Solved: Insufficient core for numeric phase of sparse decomposition

 Issue Description:

MSC Nastran jobs sometimes comes out in the middle with an error like  below in .f06 file.

*** USER FATAL MESSAGE 6136 (UDSFA)

INSUFFICIENT CORE FOR NUMERIC PHASE OF SPARSE DECOMPOSITION.

USER ACTION: INCREASE CORE BY  126613566 WORDS

 

Root Cause:

 This happens when ever insufficient memory is allocated to the job or exceeds the initial estimated memory calculated by the application. Continue reading
